Actually, Stomp. Karen and I went up to Edmonton to catch them. We had wicked seats... 5th row, centre, floor (above the orchestra pit). Close enough to read their facial expressions and stuff. So much fun, the show was phenominal as always. It was interesting though, they've added a lot more comedy. I mean, they've always done the comedy stuff, but it was kind of like little treats to the audience in the show. This time it was more almost primary to the show. There were lots of times I was a little frustrated because there was so much laughter I couldn't hear the rythms. Still gets a 5 outta 5 for the show, but instead of totally being blown away and inspired by this two hour build of sound that finishes with a huge, loud, fast and insanely rythmic and energetic climax that has me tapping on everything for weeks, I laughed so hard my back hurts today. It was cool to get the totally different feel cuz I've seen the show so many times.
We also cruised the mall (ho hum as usual, wanted to hit the water park but we didn't have time, although I gotta say, having a girlfriend who is a little bored of the shops after 10 minutes and pines for the waterpark instead is awesome). Had breakfast with my family, awesome to see them, then cruised Whyte Ave a bit with Karen's friends Chris and Mirka (I have no idea how to spell it right, it sounds kinda like meer cat, and its a Ukrainian name?). That was cool too, Karen really likes them and I can totally see why, I felt really comfortable around them.
Anyway, fun times this weekend. Chris is back now, so I'll probably have to do a little more work over the next couple weeks.

Everything Hurts
Man oh man. Went skiing with Nick and a couple of his inlaws yesterday... had an awesome day. Nick and I were kinda pushing each other a bit and started hitting some pretty big drops. One killer off of Standish (Sunshine) that was just awesome, and had the benefit of being under the chair to boot (mmmm... showoffy). Unfortunately, around 2:30 or so I managed to bite it big. I took about a 5 foot drop pretty fast, and landed in some dense, soft packed snow, which more or less ate my skis, but not the rest of me. So the final result? Well, let's just say that you can see where my feet landed, and about 8 feet away you can see where my head landed. Yeah, kind of a faceplant, but I was inclined about 30 degrees, so my neck and back folded up, and my feet ended up coming up over my head and I flopped over onto my back and slid down the mountain that way wondering if I could feel my toes, and why I couldn't breath. Luckily nothing broken, and after some fun filled wheezing I caught my breath. Good times. Still an awesome day though. Also went xc on saturday with Nick and Karen which was a great time too. They get along well, so that's cool. ALSO went dancing on saturday night and had a great night. Just so much fun, lots of good dances, improvised a couple cool moves, both of which I can remember... really good night.
This week is looking pretty boring. I'm doing thesis work all day tomorrow and meeting Dr. Tait on thursday. Fun times. BUT! Friday is gonna be a trap and gill night, and saturday Karen and I and I think Jenn G. are gonna hit Edmonton... looking forward to that.
That's all for this fun filled update.

Been a little while
I've been a bit busy with work, and a lot lazy, so no post for a while.
Some interesting things been going on lately. I've got my beach cruiser bicycle tuned up and fixed up. Put a new, giant, cushy, and with chrome bits seat on it, got all the cables and the bottom bracket done. Right now all the chrome parts are sitting in the project room waiting to be cleaned. Some of it I can brush, but a lot will need a chemical treatment. I'm gonna have to wait for the impending cold snap to end for that part, but I don't think I'll be riding till after then anyway. If anyone reads this, and feels like commenting, I need a name for the cruiser. It's an old school schwinn style beach cruiser, with ape hanger bars on it... it's not a major brand or anything, so I need something cool to call it.
Also did some work on the motorcycle. Changed the oil, she sounds so much better now... the other stuff was getting old. Worked on getting the cruise control to work, but it looks like I'm gonna have to change out the grips (again) for that to work. Also got a new helmet for the passenger (aka Karen). The 60s space helmet was awesome cool, but maybe not so good for the protection of the brain and whatnot, which is kind of important sometimes. In related news, we went to try on leathers today. While the heavy 80's style biker jacket was cool, AND on sale dirt cheap, it looked a little too Michael Jackson video for me. Karen tried on some cute girl biker stuff, but it was all really expensive, and for the price we can get her some much higher quality textile stuff with armour built in.
Went cross country skiing a couple times. Karen took me to Mt. Shark last weekend. It was a nice loop, about 14 K I think. This weekend I took her to Elk Pass, also good. I'm amused that it takes about an hour and a half to 2 hours of tough uphill (not too hard, just a couple brutal spots) and less than half an hour to get back to the car. Awesome weather for it yesterday though, and a sweet picture of a whiskyjack dive bombing Karen going for the bread crumbs that 'somehow' got on her toque. Also went to the Broken Plate last night for a fancyish dinner. Wonderful food, and an excellent ambiance, and of course, a little bit of smashing stuff.
Anyway, that's life in a nutshell... and now I must prepare for church.
