And in this corner!

Weighing in at infinty pounds, the tag team of Shawn Michaels and The alpha, the omega, the beginning and the end, The Father ALMIGHT! GOD!

No I'm serious. The latest WWE storyline to boost sales (I can't remember the last time I watched) is that Vince and Shane McMahon are going to wrestle agains Shawn Michaels. In their last matchup, Vince clamed Shawn won because of divine intervention (Shawn is a real Christian who turns down scripts that don't jibe with his beliefs), and so the rematch is a tag team of Vince and Shane, versus Shawn and God.

No really... I'm serious! And hey, what better way to celebrate the victory over death through Christ's resurrection this Easter Season than watching Shawn Michaels and God beat up Vince McMahon (okay, that part was heavy on the sarcasm). I'm tempted to go somewhere to watch it, but man, I don't want anyone to pay for that level of stupidity.

In other news, Happy Easter!

Where did you go?

Or... where did I go! It's been so long since I've posted. In a nutshell though, it's been all about work. I've been on the road for almost a month now. I've had a couple days off, but I've worked most of the weekends since mid february. I did manage last weekend off though, which was quite fortuitous because Karen had us and two of her friends booked into Bryant Creek Backcountry Shelter. We skiied in from Mt. Shark, about 15 km or so. I tell ya, cross country skiing with a big pack is tough... balance issues man. The snow was pretty crusty and hard to ski on too, but we made it, and standing out in a valley field, miles from any lights was worth it. It was a clear night and you could see millions of stars! I haven't seen a sky like it since I was a river guide I think. You could even see the parts of the moon that were in shadow next to the bright crescent. Also, the friend of Karen's that made it (Sam) is a photographer who knew in tonnes of detail how to use a digital SLR, and he spent some time with me showing me some practical tips and telling me what to aim for with light levels and stuff.

Not a lot else going on. I've got the motorcycle out and running, although I've been working too much to ride it more than a couple times. I got some cold weather/highway/rain riding pants, so I'm gung ho to hit some good trips.

Easter is almost upon us. Lent has flown by. I am ashamed to admit though, that I haven't had the most productive season. It started well, and I was doing quite good with my lenten sacrifices, mainly spending a good amount of time in reflection each day. But over the last week or two I've slid downhill too much. In fairness, the book I got turned out to be a bit of a dud, but it's no excuse. I feel like I've just slacked off too much, and now I'm not feeling very ready for Easter. I suppose Lent isn't over yet. What I need to do is shake off the self disappoinment and get serious about my faith life. It's hard on the road, but again, not an excuse.

Anyway, that's life in a nutshell. I'm in Fort McMurray right now and can't wait to get back to Calgary on Sunday.
