How can I stay mad at you?

Home sweet home...

It was a REALLY tough transition home. The weather was kinda dreary (coulda been worse, at least it was warm). Work came on fast (then got delayed, but that's a different story), some changes in life sorta stuff. Coupled with the emotional comedown of just off an adventure and being sick for the first time in I can't remember how long. It was tough for sure. Things are smoothing out though. Getting the time to spend with Karen definitely helped out, and I've had lots of alone time to process stuff. But the kicker was definitely the skiing yesterday. It was just so great to get to the mountains, and the snow was awesome. So far it's been pretty sparse, and there were lots of rocks (I'm sorry skis!) but there was also lots of fresh snow on most of the mountain. Karen and I had a riot on Goat's Eye in the morning. I had the comedy bail in the powder in the first 5 minutes, and Karen got to know a clump of trees REALLY well. It was awesome to have someone on the same kinda level as me too. As a side note, I love watching Karen let herself be challenged on stuff that makes me think, hmm, this is tough, but still have the brains to pass off something that's a little more than she can deal with.

Anyway, all said and done it's good to be home.
