Home, bitter home

Yeah, I'm finally back. It was overall a good trip. It most certainly was not the way I would travel, but Karen said something that made a lot of sense... the trip wasn't so much for me and J as it was for mom and dad, and that's cool, I kinda wish I'd understood that a little better before we went so I coulda done more to make it extra special for them, but it was still really good. I have a feeling this will have been the last 'forced' family vacation. I'd really like to go somewhere for me soon, and with all the airmiles I have banked up, I should be able to go almost anywhere in the world at this point. Heck, I did 9 flights in 2 weeks just on this holiday alone, plus, we got stuck in tokyo (our flight was cancelled at the last minute due to a severe hydraulic leak) so we had to spend the night there, and to make up for it, Air Canada is giving everyone on the plane a bonus 20,000 aeroplan points. I'm thinking maybe Ireland, especially if Liza ends up getting married soonish, or perhaps somewhere warm and windy for a kitesurfing vacation. Or heck, back to Thailand would be alright... it's warm, it's dirt cheap if you know how to travel, and there is a tonne of cool stuff to do, like class 5 whitewater, kitesurfing and windsurfing, diving, climbing, kayaking... who knows, it's a ways off anyway.

So no rest for the wicked... on friday I'm off to work again. Now it's a fairly big project, and I will see a lot of countryside on it. I'm hoping there are enough breaks in Calgary because I think it'll take upwards of a month.

Anyway, that's it, I'm out
