Blessed am I among women

Had the most wonderful, sad, beautiful, melancholic, fun and energetic night ever.

It was Christen's last night in town with the gang (me, Kristen, Trevor, Christen). We were gonna go to Lake Sylvan to commemorate Trevor's first live music dancing night, but we decided to stay in Calgary. So for the afternoon we ate chocolate and shwaramas and shared dance moves (bal stuff) and aerials on the lawn. Then we went and played basketball for a couple hours before hitting the Red Onion. So good. Wicked blues. It was weird though, in the midst of good music and wonderful friends I hit this introverted self concious funk. I get them sometimes, and usually the trick is to lay low till I can get the alone time and recharge. God love em though, my friends managed to pull me out of it before anyone even noticed it. That's rare, and it takes really special people to do it.

I'm sad so deep down about Christen leaving. It hasn't even reached the surface yet. We've build such a wonderful connection in the last few weeks, it's been amazing. On the dance floor, awesome, off the dance floor, just as awesome. I was just starting to learn so many cool things about her (like she's fascinated by relics and iconography), and deepening the friendship. It's so hard to see it go long distance now. But, as such it is life, and it goes on... She's living in a convent in Italy, so you know part of me is somewhere there anyway :D

Oh yeah, and to cap the night we hit Tubby Dog, popped some Chuck Berry and Buddy Holly on the jukebox, and had a Lindy Smack down. Kristen and I took it on moves and style, but Trevor and Christen definitely got the dramatic flair award with the coat thrown on the floor when the guy cooking dogs yelled 'dance off!' and with the ballroomy bow at the end. It was a lot of fun to see all the patrons, from the Goth kids in the corner to the latin dancers looking pretty, clapping and cheering for us. Good times, we pwn that place.

I'll miss ya Christen with a Christ, God keep you on your trip.
