Is that I'm supposed to be married now. As of around 7:45 pm tonight.
It's pretty weird to think about. So much has changed in the last couple months that I can't even imagine it. Things have been better and better. I've been really happy being me, which is cool, and I've been really looking at today and the future, trusting God and walking with more confidence than I think I've ever had. I think it's the fact that God steered me so strongly when I was on the wrong path. It's given me enough perspective to see all the unrelated bad shit happening just as bad shit, and not signs. But today was weird... it hit me harder than I thought it would, but it's cool. I kinda feel like being sad tonight. It was cool that Andrea remembered, and mentioned Nick and Matt did. No one in my family said anything, but that was probably on purpose. It was a good day to spend with the family, it was cool spending the evening with dad working on the motorcycle. We got my grip heaters installed, so that's cool. We only broke one or two things in the process :D
I start some engineering work on monday. It'll be a little mundane I think. I'll be on one side of Crowchild moving targets, Chris'll be on the other scanning. Fun stuff.
Anyway, enough introspecting.

Now I've seen it all
Literally, I've seen everything... like EVERYTHING.
Went to the trap tonight for a good east coast kind of time. Yeah, it was a gong show. Everyone in our group stayed more or less sober... half a dozen pitchers between about 10 people, a few drivers... no biggie.
But everyone else... man... crazy. So less than an hour in, a fight breaks out between a tall skinny guy, and a tall, but about 6 feet around solid guy. They get taken outside, the big guy comes back in (no fighting, just back in). About 30 seconds later cops.
But that's just the start. I kid you not, there was a biker midget (I don't know the PC term at this point... I've heard 'little person', but that seems worse). But he was rockin out man... at one point, humping a pool cue... I kid you not. The only thing that could have made it more exceptional would be if he was a ninja too.
Then just to top it off, there was a totally drunk guy, sitting on the lap of the head of security (a great guy... really friendly, met him a couple times) crying.
Man what a gong show.
Big thanks to everyone who came. Dave and Trudi, Both Kr(chr)istens, Trevor, Julie, Aaron and Jenn, Jenni (who apparently is Jenn, but forever Jenni to me), and HUGE gets a hero sort of award thanks to Dave B. He offered to pick me up and drive me tonight so I didn't have to worry about anything, and tried to pay too much of the bill to cover me. You rock man, and next year, gonna go all out for ya man!
Can't wait 'till tomorrow. Gonna do dinner with the family. I need to think of someting to do for them too. Their birthdays are both earlier in the year.
See ya sunday.

Strange happenings
Two really... First of all, the G8 came out with some pretty solid committments to end global poverty. A lot more money is gonna be spent in the next 6 years or so, and there's gonna be even better debt relief. It's good to see some action to respond to the global voice, and I'm glad the make poverty history campaign seems to be doing some good. I was surprised though... I didn't think MPH would get more than a tip of the hat from them. My biggest fear is still that it will fizzle out now. That the aid wont make it to where it needs to go, and that the people rallying now will forget about it next month when something else comes along.
The other is that the rear window of my car broke. Not like got smashed or broken, it just broke. The glass in the rear just shattered outwards into a million little bits. I am glad though that Saturn is going to replace it for me. They said it's a 'goodwill warranty repair', which he told me basically means GM doesn't cover it, but they will replace it anyway. I don't know if it's meant to let me know they are being extra nice or something, but in my thinking, I'm still losing my car for a week because of faulty glass. I'm glad they're covering it, but I resent a bit the accent on 'well, we DONT cover it, but we'll do it anyway cuz we're so great' sort of attitude. I'll be glad to get the car back though :D

Victory is mine!
Okay, first off, UPDATE YOUR BLOGS! You know who you are... I've had little to help me kill time at work for weeks now.
Second, I managed to get everything fixed on the bike more or less. I'm just waiting for one part to come in and it'll be complete again. In the meantime it's safely ridable, so I'm happy about that, and in the end the whole repair only cost me about an hour and $50. Also, my parents decided that they will widen one of the gates for me so I can store my bike more securely at night. But, to the one who did it, you still better hope I don't ever find you!
Comin' Alive Camp is going on now... Ach! Too many wee ones!!
Finally, Live 8 came and went with no impact yet. I'm sad. I wish that people would come out for such an important cause without needing a huge rock concert. I also wish the world leaders listened to the message and did more for third world debt relief. However, wishing won't get anyone very far, so I've got an order of white bands coming in (I know its a trend, I don't care, so are ribbons... and they work so shut up), so get em while they're hot. I'm praying and advocating as much as I can that the world keeps is socks up now and the bandwagon doesn't just stop here. We need to keep the cause in the spotlight to get the debt relief going on... it's an important step to reducing poverty.

You better hope I don't find you.
So I have a great day yesterday. I spend most of the day out in the sunshine, workin on the bike. All the fluids topped up, everything tightened, and washed and polished and waxed and shined till it looked new. Go to church, good there, Fr. Julian was on a roll. Then to Alisons for a coupel hours of just floating in the pool. All good, home to bed, ready for comin alive camp starting today. So I walk out of the house this morning and what do I see that almost makes me cry? My bike, lying on it's side in the street. You're probably thinking 'way to go Fox, you didn't put the kickstand down right'. I only wish. It was on the other side and the side stand was still locked in place. There is only one thing that coulda done that, and that's someone knocking it over. Now there is no sign of a collision, so I gotta assume vandals. Why would someone do that? Aside from all the money it's gonna cost me to fix (it needs three new parts) they've also shattered my peace of mind. Now unless I can get it into the backyard every night I'm gonna be totally paranoid of it happening again. I'm so angry about it. It totally ruined my morning. And now instead of spending the afternoon working on thesis, I need to go get a couple parts and stuff. Pisses me off so much. I hope I never find out who did it, cuz that would be too big a challenge for me as far as the whole forgiveness/turn the other cheek thing goes.
