It killed my last one
Sniff... my last entry was lost during the posting phase, and I was too lazy to redo it. Stupid computers.
So guess what I was doing at 10:30 last night. Cleaning refried beans off of the ceiling (probably 12 or 15 feet high) in the youth development in the parish. Yep, we had a refried bean flinging contest and one of my lovely and wonderful and never bratty Jr. High kids was flinging them straight up. Gee it sure was fun. Actually, it was hilarious watching the rest of it... good times.
Freaking out last night. Parents were in Sharm El Shek for the weekend, its a resort on the red sea... all of the sudden I'm hearing reports of bombs going off in red sea resort towns in Egypt. It was scary cuz it took me like 3 hours to get a hold of them. Terrorists suck.
Thats it

History part 2
Space ship one made the winning flight for the ansari X-Prize. On the one hand I'm super glad. It's a real milestone in human history. It also brings me one step closer to my dream of seeing the earth from space and experiencing true weightlessness.
I'm sad too though. There were two Canadian ventures, one of which was orginially going to launch on October 2, but it was delayed for some reason. It used a helium balloon to carry the rocket component up tens of thousands of feet for a drop launch. Its a neat idea because it cuts down on cost for fuel consumption a lot. Does make the launch much more weather dependant though. It would have been cool for a Canadian group to be the winner. I hope their efforts aren't scrapped with the loss of the prize though. There were lots of teams competing... I really hope they all continue, seeing reaching space a more important goal than the prize. Having one private company in space and selling their stuff to Virgin airlines for a comercial space flight touristy thing is cool, having like 10 companies is even cooler. I think maybe if we put more people in space, we'll be more likely to start looking around out there more seriously.
Anyway, its still cool, the next couple years are gonna be huge for anyone with the vision to pay attention to them.
